Configuring a Graphic Page for UPS RFC1628

Scenario: You want to create a graphical representation of the RFC1628 UPS devices configured and the related properties.

Prerequisites:

  • System Manager is in Engineering mode.
  • System Browser is in Management View.

 

1 – Select the Sample Graphic
  • The Graphics Editor is opened.
  1. Click Open .
  1. Select [system] > Libraries > [L1-Headquarters] > Building Infrastructure > Device > BuildingInfrastructure_Device_UPS_RFC1628_150_HQ_1 > Sample Graphics.
  1. Select the sample graphic Building Infrastructure – UPS RFC1628 Alarming – Sample 001.
  1. Click Open.
  1. Click Save As .
  1. Select [system] > Graphics > [graphic] and enter a meaningful name.
  1. Click Save.
  • The new graphic is saved, but not yet configured.

 

2 – Configure the Graphic Header
  • The new graphic is selected and displayed in the Graphics Editor.
  1. Make sure the Element Tree view is visible; from the bottom left side of the view, click Show all Elements .
  • The Element Tree now displays all elements and objects that are placed on the graphic.
  1. Expand Layer (Layer1).
  1. Locate and select Symbol Instance (Header).
  • The Symbol Instance Properties view displays the substitutions and properties associated with that particular symbol instance.
  1. In System Browser navigate to Project > Field Networks > [RFC1628 network] > [UPS device].
  1. Drag the UPS device object onto the Object Reference field of the Symbol Instance (Header) properties.
  1. (Optional) By default, in Symbol Instance Properties > Substitutions, the ShowName field is set to 0. This means that the description of the UPS properties will display on the graphic header. To show the MIB name, enter 1.

 

3 – Configure the UPS Devices in the Graphic

The Element Tree view contains a symbol instance for each row of the sample graphic up to a maximum of 22. Configure all the UPS devices required for your graphic as follows:

  1. Expand Layer (Layer1).
  1. Select Symbol Instance (1).
  • The Symbol Instance Properties view displays the substitutions and properties associated with that particular symbol instance.
  1. In System Browser navigate to Project > Field Networks > [RFC1628 network] > [UPS device].
  1. Drag the UPS device object onto the Object Reference field of the Symbol Instance (1) properties.
  1. (Optional) By default, in Symbol Instance Properties > Substitutions, the ShowName field is set to 0. This means that the description of the UPS properties will display on the symbol tooltip. To show the MIB name, enter 1.
  1. (Optional) In Symbol Instance Properties > Substitutions > TargetLink field, from System Browser drag and drop the UPS document node. When clicking on the related Link button in graphic, you will be able to navigate to the configured document node.
  1. Repeat the previous steps for all the remaining symbol instances.
