Overview of Notification

Notification is a powerful and easy to use application to quickly notify a small or large number of people. It can be used to inform employees, visitors, students and other affected persons about emergency situations or to inform Facility, Life safety and Security personal about issues in the building.

Notification comes with three functional levels, called Reno (Remote Notification), Reno plus and MNS (Mass Notification).

• With Reno, you can send notifications via email, SMS and pager to max. 100 persons (recipients). Reno supports basic alerting to single person or group of persons such as Facility, Life safety or Security personal. Notification forwards Desigo CC alarms/events automatically or manually to the specified persons or group of persons. The Reno functionality is included in the Desigo CC standard and the compact feature set.
• In addition to Reno, Reno plus supports advanced alerting (for example, multi-level escalation, active/inactive setting of recipients, recipient time-zones, ...) and allows sending notifications to more than 100 recipients. With Reno plus it is also possible to send SMS via a Cloud Service.
• In addition to Reno plus, MNS allows more ways (inputs such as Internet weather events, phones,...) to activate notifications as well as more output channels (such as Desktop Notifications, Loudspeaker systems, Media displays, Twitter, Facebook,...) to send out notifications.

In the case of MNS, when sending out emergency notification to employees or students the full potential of the integrated Platform can be exploited. Incidents can be detected in various ways and depending on the situation the following steps can be initiated: Video verification, automatic reactions and sending out of clear instructions for action via all available output channels to all affected persons.
