Comark Monitor Card

Scenario: You want to configure the Comark monitor card installed on the stations of your management platform. You need to configure a driver for each station equipped with the card.

Prerequisites:

  • The Comark extension module is installed and included in the active project.
  • System Manager is in Engineering mode.
  • System Browser is in Management View.

 

Steps:

1 – Manually Configure the Comark Driver
  • When working on a FEP station, the driver folder must be available in System Browser. You can create it using New .
  • You know which serial port is used to connect the card (check hardware model specifications.
  1. In System Browser, depending on where the card is installed, select one of the following:
  • Project > Management System > Servers > Main Server > Drivers
  • Project > Management System > FEPs > [FEP] > [drivers folder]
  1. In the Object Configurator tab, click New and select New Comark Driver.
    NOTE: You can only create one Comark driver on a station.
  1. In the New Object dialog box, enter a name and description.
  1. Click OK.
  • The newly created Comark node is automatically selected in System Browser.
  1. In the System Management tab, open the General Settings expander.
  1. (Optional) In the Vendor and Type field, enter a textual comment of your choice about the installed monitor card. By default, this field just indicates Comark.
  1. In the Communication Port field, select the serial port connected to the card.
  1. Click Save.
  1. In the Properties expander, configure the relay output.
    The general procedure is the following:
    a. Select the Relay Active property.
    b. Drag a point from any of the System Browser views onto Data PointName.
    c. Enter the Property Name and Activation value.
    d. Click Save.
    e. Repeat the steps for all the data points to set.
    NOTE: The configuration of specific applications of the relay output is provided in the next sections.
  1. Modify the default setting of one or more of the following properties:
    For each of the properties, select it, modify the value, and click Save.
  • Fan Alarm (mandatory)
  • Set Alarm Timeout
  • Set High Limit In
  • Set Low Limit In
  • Set Message Interval
  • Sound Audible (mandatory)
  • Temperature Alarm
  1. In the Operation tab, select the Manager Status property.
  1. Click Start to activate the driver.

2 – Duplicate an Existing Comark Driver Configuration
  1. In System Browser, select Project > Management System > Servers > Main Server > Drivers > [Comark driver].
  1. In the System Management tab, modify the configuration as needed.
  1. Click Save As .
  1. In the Save Object As dialog box, do the following:
    a. Select the destination path Project > Management System > FEPs > [FEP] > [drivers folder].
    b. Enter a name and description.
    c. Click OK.
  • The new Comark driver node is available in System Browser.

 

3 – Export the Comark Monitor Driver Settings to a File
  1. In System Browser, depending on where the Comark card is installed, select one of the following:
  • Project > Management System > Servers > Main Server > Drivers > [Comark]
  • Project > Management System > FEPs > [FEP] > [drivers folder] > [Comark]
  1. In the System Management tab, click Export a Device .
  • The configuration data is available into an XML file in the Device folder of [Installation Drive]:\[Installation Folder]\[Project Name].
    NOTE: The naming convention for the exported file is the following:
    [class name].[Vendor And Type].[Version].[Device Type].xml

 

4 – Import the Comark Driver Settings from a File
  • An XML file containing Comark driver configuration data is available in the Device folder of [Installation Drive]:\[Installation Folder]\[Project Name].
  • A Comark driver object was already created.
  1. In System Browser, depending on where the Comark card is installed, select one of the following:
  • Project > Management System > Servers > Main Server > Drivers > [Comark]
  • Project > Management System > FEPs > [FEP] > [drivers folder] > [Comark]
  1. Click the System Management tab.
  1. Click Import Device.
  1. In the Select device to import dialog box, do the following:
    a. Select the XML file that corresponds to the device configuration.
    b. Click Import.
  • If the device being imported is the same as the one used for creating the configuration file, the configuration data is copied from file to device.
  • If the property names do not match, the Combines properties dialog box displays, asking you to match the properties in the file with the device properties. Select the correct matching and click Import.
