Setting Up Maintenance

Scenario: You want to create the directory that includes maintenance objects.

Preconditions:

  • System Manager is in Engineering mode.

 

Steps:

1 – Create the Maintenance Aggregator
  1. In the System Browser drop-down list, select Management View or Application View.
  1. In the System Browser tree, select the view root node.
  1. Select the Views tab.
  1. In the view builder workspace, click Add Aggregator and select Aggregator.
  1. In the New Object dialog box, enter a name and description for the Maintenance aggregator, and click OK.
  1. Click Save .

 

2 – Create and Activate Maintenance Objects
  1. Select the newly created Maintenance folder.
  1. Select the Object Configurator tab.
  1. Click New and select Maintenance Aggregator.
  1. In the New Object dialog box, enter a name and description for the panel/device, and click OK.
  • The newly created maintenance object is added to System Browser.
  1. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to create all the required maintenance objects (panels/devices).
  1. By default, maintenance objects are inactive. To activate those objects do the following:
    a. Select each object.
    b. In the Operation tab, next to the [maintenance object] name, click Set.

 

3 – Set the Logical View for Maintenance

If the logical view is already present in the system, skip to step 7 in this procedure.

  1. From the System Browser drop-down list, select Management View.
  1. Select Project > System Settings > Views.
  • The views workspace displays in the Views tab.
  1. In the View Name and View Description fields, enter a name and description for the logical view.
  1. In the Root node name and Root node description fields, enter a name and description for the root node of the logical view.
  1. From the Type drop-down list, select Logical.
  1. Click Save .
  • The logical view object is added to System Browser under Views. Its name becomes available in the System Browser drop-down list.
  1. Display the [logical view] in the view builder workspace of the Views tab as follows:
    a. From the System Browser drop-down list, select the [logical view].
    b. In the System Browser tree, select the [logical view] root node.
  1. In the view builder workspace, populate the logical view with maintenance objects as follows:
    a. select the [logical view] level.
    b.
    Drag the maintenance objects (such as Electrical, HVAC and so on) that you want to link from System Browser to the appropriate level or sublevel under the [logical view] level.
    c. Drag the Documents folder to the [logical view] level.
  1. Click Save .
