Discovering and Setting the Adapter Configuration

Scenario: You created the SORIS driver, network, and adapter manually or using the network wizard and now you want to discover the adapter configuration objects and specify their settings.

 

Workflow Diagram:

 

1 – Discover the Adapter Basic Objects
  1. Select Project > Field Networks > [SORIS network] > [Meteoblue adapter].
  • In the Extended Operation tab, the Online property indicates Connected while the Discovery Status property indicates Idle.
  1. Next to the URL property, click Discover.
  • System Browser refreshes the objects list with the following basic objects under the Configuration folder: Adapter Settings and New Location.

 

2 – Configure the Adapter API Key

The adapter object created in Desigo CC must now be configured with the API key that allows making a certain amount of queries per month to access the Meteoblue weather data.

  1. Select Project > Field Networks > [SORIS network] > [Meteoblue adapter] > Configuration > Adapter Settings.
  • in the Operation tab, the Service Status property indicates Connected. This means that the Meteoblue adapter can reach the Meteoblue website.
  1. Next to the API Key property, enter the given API Key code in the field and click Change.

 

3 – Configure the Adapter Secure Key

By default, any requests from the Meteoblue adapter to the Meteoblue weather forecast service are sent with no encryption. To prevent an unauthorized use of the API key the adapter object created in Desigo CC can be configured with a secure key to secure the communication between the Meteoblue adapter and the Meteoblue weather forecast service.

  1. Select Project > Field Networks > [SORIS network] > [Meteoblue adapter] > Configuration > Adapter Settings.
  • In the Operation tab, the Secure Status property indicates Disabled.
  1. Next to the Secure Key property, enter the secure key code in the field and click Change.
  • The Secure Status property becomes Enabled.
