Prerequisites:

  • You have downloaded the Desigo CC mobile app (Desigo CC published by Siemens AG) from the Google Play Store (for Android) or from the Apple App Store (for iOS). The mobile app is a free downloadable app available for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.
  • The Desigo CC Mobile App is connected to the Management Platform server. (see Setting up the Mobile App Client )
  • You have obtained the corresponding root certificate file (for example, WebservicesCA.cer) and installed it on your mobile device, if the Web Service application uses a private CA certificate. However, if the Web Service application of the management platform uses a public CA certificate, the mobile device will automatically recognize it and there is no need to install a certificate file.
  • In System Browser, Application View is selected.

Steps:

1 – Sign In into the Mobile App
  1. Log on to the Desigo CC Mobile App.
  1. Enter the username and password.
  1. Click Sign In.
  • Home page displays.
  1. On the Home page select System browser.

2 – Select Incident/Message or Live Announcement Template
  • Perform the following substeps as required:
  • To select an incident template, select Applications > Notification > Incident Templates and select the required incident template from the list of available templates. For example, Earthquake.
  • To select a message template, select Applications > Notification > Notification Templates > Message Templates. Select the required message template from the list of available templates. For example, Tornado.
  • To select a live announcement template, select Applications > Notification > Notification Templates > Live Announcement. Select the required live announcement template from the list of available templates. For example, Tornado.
  • The enabled command displays with three vertical black squares.

  • For message templates configured with no user variable configured: Click Initiate.
  1. Click Send.

  • If the Callback # field is left blank, the system uses the live announcement template's source information to determine which phone number to call back (either the number of the logged-in user or a fixed phone number).
  • If the callback number is entered, the corresponding number replaces the number specified in the Source field during configuration of the live announcement template.
  • If the system does not reach phone numbers with a leading “+”, leave out the leading “+” or replace the “+” with the respective international phone number prefix (for example, 001 in the US, 0049 in Germany).
  1. Click Send to confirm the Live Announcement.
  1. Click OK.
  • The selected live announcement is successfully launched.
If the callback settings were set correctly, wait for the system to call back, answer the call and perform the live announcement.
  • You have initiated an incident, launched a message or sent a live announcement successfully from Mobile App.
