h,x-diagram for ventilation plants

Scenario: You want to create a diagram in Desigo CC for a ventilation plant with humidity and temperature control. The workflow guides you through the required steps.

Reference: General information on the h,x diagram is available at H,x diagram for ventilation plants.

Flowchart:

Prerequisites:

  • System Manager is in Engineering mode.

Steps:

1 –Creating the h,x diagram
  1. In the System Browser, select Logical View.
  1. Select the View tab.
  • The View dialog pane opens.
  1. Select Logical > [Hierarchy] >[Ventilation plant].
  1. Click Create Element and select Element.
NOTE: The button must be enabled to create an element.
  1. In the New Object dialog window, enter a name and description.
  1. Click OK.
  • The new elements is added to the System Browser and the View dialog pane in the appropriate hierarchy.

2 – Assign data points

The h,x diagram is available in the View dialog pane.

  1. Select the Manual Navigation check box.
  • The View remains selected until the check box is cleared.
  1. In System Browser, select Management View.
  1. Select the temperature sensor Project > Field Networks > [Network] > Hardware > [Device] > Outside air temperature:
  • Drag-and-drop creates a Softlink from the System Browser Outside air temperature to [h,x diagram] in the Views tab.
  • Create additional Softlinks for:
    a. Supply air temperature
    b. Room air temperature
    c.
    (Optional) Extract air temperature
  1. Select the temperature sensor Project > Field Networks > [Network] > Hardware > [Device] > Outside air humidity:
  • Drag-and-drop creates a Softlink from the System Browser Outside air humidity to [h,x diagram] in the Views tab.
  • Create additional Softlinks for:
    a. Supply air temperature
    b. Room humidity
    c.
    (Optional) Extract air humidity
  1. Select the temperature sensor Project > Field Networks > [Network] > Hardware > [Device] > Setpoint heating:
  • Drag-and-drop creates a Softlink from the System Browser Setpoint heating to [h,x diagram] in the Views tab.
  • Create additional Softlinks for:
    a. Setpoint cooling
    b. Setpoint humidification
    c. Setpoint dehumidification

NOTE: The appropriate Replacement value is take if not all setpoint data points are available.
  • (Optional) A Softlink need only be created for the object SpField, if used instead of individual setpoints.
  1. Click Save .
  1. Assign a Function for h,x diagram.

NOTE:
An appropriate replacement value is taken if no setpoint data point is available.

3 –Assign a Function for h,x diagram

A function must be assigned to the aggregator before the h,x diagram can be displayed in the graphic.

  • The required data points are assigned to the h,x diagram in the View tab.
  • Clear the Manual Navigation check box.
  1. In the System Browser, select Logical View.
  1. Select Logical > [Hierarchy] > [Ventilation plant] > [h,x diagram].
  1. Select the Object Configurator tab.
  1. In the Settings expander, select Function, and option FnctMollierChartPX from the drop-down list.
NOTE: Select All to see all functions.
  1. Click Save .
  1. The ,odify function must be adapted for the extract air sensor is used for the h,x diagram instead of the room sensor.
  • The h,x diagram is configured (is item 6 is not required) and can be tested.

4 – Modifications when using extract sensors

The h,x diagram used the function room temperature and room humidity for the calculation. The function for these two sensors must be adapted if the room sensor is unavailable or replaced by a corresponding extract air sensor.

  1. In System Browser, select Management View.
  1. Select the extract air temperature sensor Project > Field Networks > [Network] > Hardware > [Device] > Extract air temperature.
  1. Select the Object Configurator tab.
  1. In the Settings expander, select Function, and option SensorRoomTemperature from the drop-down list.
  1. Click Save .
  1. Select the extract air temperature sensor Project > Field Networks > [Network] > Hardware > [Device] > Extract air humidity.
  1. Select the Object Configurator tab.
  1. In the Settings expander, select Function, and option SensorRoomHumidity from the drop-down list.
  1. Click Save .
  • The h,x diagram is configured and can be tested.
